Interior Design Trends for Dallas Homes in 2025

I’m not going to lie – talking about trends can feel a little ridiculous. It reminds me of Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada, giving that iconic lecture about a “cerulean” sweater and being way too serious with Anne Hathaway about the color blue.

But here’s the thing—trends tend to sneak into our lives whether we’d like them to or not. Case in point: that time everyone everywhere painted their entire homes gray. The result? A mental health crisis. (Okay, so social media might have contributed, but if you ask me, Sherwin Williams Repose Gray still has a lot to answer for.)

With that disclaimer out of the way, here’s a look at Lark’s predictions for what’s going to shape the look and feel of our homes next year. Get ready to be inspired. Or at least swap out that gray paint for something a little more lively. (No, really. It’s long past time. If your house is still gray, check out our favorite paint colors in this post.)

The Future of Dallas Interiors: Design Trends for 2025

Pattern Drenching

In 2024, we saw color drenching—painting an entire room, including the ceiling, trim, and built-ins, in one solid color—really take off. And it’s here to stay. But in 2025, it’s all about pattern drenching. Think of it as the next level: using the same pattern across multiple elements in a room, like matching the wallpaper with the drapes and even the headboard.

This approach isn’t new; it’s a classic move in more traditional spaces. But if you’re worried about it looking too old-school, try balancing it with modern lighting or unexpected decor. A perfect example? Take a look at our dining room from the Modern English Cottage Mansion project. We matched the drapes and wallpaper in the same bold Lindsey Cowles pattern but paired them with funky chandeliers designed by Kelly Wearstler to keep things fresh and balanced

Interior Windows

Guys. I am like a houseplant. I wilt without light. In fact, the number one recommendation I make to friends and family looking for a new home is to find a home with good natural light. And the number one budget-friendly design tip I give to people who already own a home is to OPEN YOUR DAMN BLINDS. Nothing, and I mean nothing, improves the look of your home (or mood) faster than natural light.

So, it’s no surprise that Lark Interiors is all about the interior window trend. We’ve been incorporating interior windows into our designs for a few years now, and we love how they turn out every time.

Here’s the deal: even with the best architectural plans, it’s tough to get perfect light into every room. That’s where interior windows come in. They pull light from brighter areas into darker spots, making the whole space feel more open and airy. And besides being super functional, they look incredible. When done right, interior windows add architectural interest and a fresh, modern feel to any home.

Take a look at this rendering from a home currently in construction. The interior window on the right wasn’t in the original plans — but was so necessary to allow more light to flow through to the kitchen.

Bold Color

Say goodbye to beige on beige (sorry, not sorry.) Color has been creeping into interior design over the past few years and it has fully arrived for 2025. Think vibrant plums, eye-catching golds, and spaces filled with royal blue. The era of playing it safe is officially over. As the saying goes, “it’s just paint — not a tattoo.”

If color makes you nervous, start small. We often keep sofas neutral and introduce color and pattern with a pair of swivel chairs, like we did here:

Another fun to introduce bold color into your home is through artwork. We love the punchiness of this piece of art — which is made of vintage book covers — in this otherwise neutral room.

Traditional Details

Traditional design is making a serious comeback in 2025, and we couldn’t be more excited. While sleek, minimalist styles have dominated for years, there’s something undeniably charming about the layered, thoughtful look that traditional design brings to a space. It’s all in the details—those small, intentional touches that make a home feel curated, timeless, and full of character. It’s those ogee edges on countertops, tassel fringe on an upholstered chair, or welting on a pillow that adds depth and dimension.

If you’re looking to bring this trend into your home, the good news is that you don’t need to commit to a fully traditional aesthetic. A little goes a long way, and traditional details can be blend into a variety of design styles.

Want to wade it? Start with pillows. Check companies like Samuel & Sons or Kravet for amazing tape trims or brush fringe to make a pillow feel extra special. We used a Schumacher trim on the pillows in the girl’s room below.

Final Thoughts

So there you have it—our take on the interior design trends that are set to define 2025. From bold colors that make your space sing, to traditional details that add timeless charm, and even pattern drenching that’s as fun as it is daring, these trends are all about making your home feel personal, vibrant, and full of life.

The best part? You don’t have to dive headfirst into every trend. Pick the ones that resonate with your style and lifestyle, and start small. Maybe it’s swapping out a few throw pillows with a touch of fringe, adding a pop of color through a bold accent chair, or opening up a room with an interior window. Your home should reflect you, and these trends are here to inspire—not dictate—how you create a space you love.

And remember: trends come and go, but the best designs are the ones that make you feel at home. If you’re ready to try something new (or just need a nudge to repaint that gray room), we’re here to help you bring it all to life. Cheers to a year of inspired, intentional design!
